Mechanical Project Test Engineer

Job Summary
Establish test protocols, design and create test fixtures, and execute comprehensive mechanical design reviews to evaluate and resolve potential risk and failure areas in New Product Development. Develop test standards and procedures, analyze field and user data for root cause verification, and support the development team through all phase gate deliverables and product safety review processes. Utilize engineering mechanics, FEA, and tolerance analysis to mitigate design risks and ensure products meet regulatory and internal test standards before transitioning to mass production.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering mechanics, or similar
- Minimum of 1 year of mechanical engineering
- Expertise with engineering mechanics and design analysis
- Proficiency with fixture design, test setup, air cylinders, load cells, electro-mechanical control systems, and data acquisition
- Strong FEA, DFMEA, test plan development and execution skills
- Demonstrable experience designing components for various manufacturing processes including sheet metal, tube forming, machining, welding & joining, etc.
- Thorough experience with 3D CAD and related design analysis tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with numerous diverse groups and individuals
Desired Qualifications
- Well qualified candidates will possess engineering experience with fitness products and strong fitness market knowledge
- Solidworks preferred
