Job Summary
Lead Mechanical Engineer responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, fostering relationships with clients and industry stakeholders, and participating in business development activities such as marketing and proposal preparation. You will create and manage mechanical scope of work, oversee detailed design drawings, and develop project specifications to meet performance requirements. Daily tasks involve sizing and selecting mechanical equipment, coordinating communications between project and design teams, and ensuring quality control through regular reporting on progress, schedule, and staffing. This role requires a licensed New Mexico professional engineer with five years of facility design experience to deliver high-quality services for federal, educational, industrial, and commercial projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering in an ABET-accredited college or university
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with mechanical design of facilities
- Currently a licensed professional engineer in New Mexico or within a year of obtaining a New Mexico license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MEP software such as Revit MEP
- Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Experience in the preparation of work plans, budgets and project schedules
