Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Summary

Lead the technical success of engineering solutions by directing day-to-day activities of Mechanical Engineers and Designers from project launch through final customer acceptance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop designs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, prepare drawings and Bill of Materials, and create equipment specifications for outside vendors. Manage the creation of Functional Specification documents, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Treatment plans, and Sequence of Operations while ensuring vendors meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Travel to customer facilities to resolve equipment issues, assist with commissioning, and secure customer acceptance in adherence to safety policies. Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of experience in manufacturing custom machinery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of experience working specifically with industrial washing equipment, or other custom machinery
  • 5+ years of experience in the Mechanical Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specializing in custom machines and/or capital equipment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook
  • Excel (Basic level required)
  • Word (Basic level required)
  • PowerPoint (Basic level required)
  • 5+ years of experience doing designs with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or other design software
  • 3+ years of experience utilizing SolidWorks 3D software
  • Domestic and/or global travel to customer sites for resolution of issues

Desired Qualifications

  • Excel (Intermediate or Advanced preferred)
  • Word (Intermediate or Advanced preferred)
  • PowerPoint (Intermediate or Advanced preferred)
  • Advanced understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks development techniques from college course work, and on-the-job experience
  • Advanced / Expert understanding (functionality and operations) of industrial washer components, robotics, and automation
  • Ability and willingness to learn about new products and components quickly and effectively in order to meet deadlines and budget restrictions
  • Ability to lead project teams, which includes coordinating work within internal, and external resources
  • Ability to work onsite at company office and at customer sites as required
  • Highly organized
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to find ways to work under pressure and still make deadlines without cutting corners or endangering the safety of himself/herself or others, or the integrity of the equipment and the employer as a whole
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and customers
