Job Summary
Lead mechanical engineering efforts from concept to validation for projects ranging from $100K to $5M, ensuring technical solutions meet scope, metrics, budget, and schedule constraints. Research customer specifications and PMD proposals to develop design feasibility, then create system layouts and detailed 3D models using SolidWorks. Manage design budgets and scheduling by creating work breakdown structures, obtaining vendor quotes, and reallocating resources as needed. Develop timing charts to maintain contracted cycle times while creating fabrication and assembly drawings, bills of material, and technical specifications. Collaborate with teams to optimize cost-effectiveness and support fabrication, assembly, debug, and validation activities to ensure designs conform to customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience
- 5 years' experience in designing automated assembly equipment
- Proficient in Solidworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of GD&T and EPDM
- In depth knowledge of automated assembly and test machines, including power and free, dial, synchronous systems
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds unassisted
- Wear safety equipment, including proper PPE
