Job Summary
Lead day‐to‐day shop operations at the Madras DTNA site, directing technician assignments, stall organization, workload prioritization and execution; serve as escalation point for shop execution issues affecting vehicle readiness, schedules, or safety; supervise shop personnel including staffing, training, coaching, and performance feedback; drive data‐based process improvements using shop performance metrics; own intake, prioritization, scheduling, and execution of all Madras shop work requests; establish and enforce a governed work order and scheduling process; maintain visibility into shop commitments, capacity, backlog, and constraints; act as primary point of contact for HDPG shop support; plan and schedule technician support for functional testing, RLDA, durability, and FCCC data acquisition activities; coordinate with test planning and project teams for ramps, special builds, test events, and high‐visibility activities; develop a Madras resource plan with flex/contingency coverage; own shop tooling and equipment lifecycle management; identify capacity gaps and future equipment needs; ensure technicians are trained on processes, equipment use, safety standards, and documentation requirements; reinforce standard workflows, work order governance, and shop discipline; develop and maintain shop performance metrics (capacity, utilization, backlog, cycle time, fleet uptime); provide leadership with actionable visibility into shop performance and risks; support tours and executive events requiring technician or driver coordination; relocate to Madras, OR, US. This position requires onsite work with no visa sponsorship and relocation not available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Typically requires 5–7 years of relevant experience (or 8 years in lieu of degree)
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience
- Experience in shop, test, manufacturing, or operations environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage scheduling, workload prioritization, and cross-functional coordination
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret and administer policies, processes, and procedures
