Mechanical Product Engineer II

Job Summary
Develop and document axle components and systems for medium- and heavy-duty truck and bus applications, covering product specification, concept, design, packaging, DFMEA/DVP, tolerance calculations, simulations, prototype assembly, testing, and documentation. Collaborate globally with Detroit, Stuttgart, and Portland teams to release axle components to production, manage suppliers, create project plans and budgets, and resolve plant issues and field problems. Engage in cross-functional activities with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Purchasing, and Suppliers in a multicultural environment; apply CAD tools and propulsion system knowledge to drive cost and quality improvements while advancing skills through training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Experience identifying and solving root cause of complex problems
- Background in mechanical hardware development
- Strong knowledge of propulsion systems including axle and transmission systems
- Strong CAD skills
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with management
