Mechanical Product Design Engineering Supervisor

Lead a mechanical design engineering team to design school bus interior/exterior body products and systems for DTNA, applying CAD (Creo) to develop 3D models, installation drawings, and Bills of Materials. Independently analyze and provide creative, technically feasible solutions to production issues; promptly resolve build issues; collaborate with Product Strategy, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, Quality and other departments to implement manufacturable, cost-effective design solutions that meet government regulations and specifications. Interface with Test & Compliance to prototype new systems and apply test results to new designs. Manage and prioritize projects for a team of mechanical design engineers; inform management of project issues, delays, and risks; review and provide feedback on the team's output. Research state-of-the-art developments in the vehicle industry and apply advances and best practices. Requires Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology and 5+ years of design engineering experience; experience with 3D CAD (Creo preferred); strong teamwork and communication; familiarity with FMVSS standards; knowledge of sheet metal fabrication; project management skills. This role is based in High Point, NC (US) with relocation assistance not available; onsite work requirement noted.
