Mechanical Process Engineer - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Interface with various departments to maintain, analyze, and improve all processes, production, and associated controlled documentation for specialty printed circuit boards. Conduct root cause analysis of day-to-day issues, evaluate equipment through DOE and capability testing, and account for programming and troubleshooting of equipment software. Provide technical and analytical support for customers and suppliers regarding product and chemical processes while generating and handling hazardous wastes. Communicate regularly with supervisors to suggest procedural changes, report safety hazards, and ensure compliance with all safety procedures and PPE requirements. This 2nd shift position requires onsite work at the East Syracuse, NY facility with occasional travel under 10%. Candidates must be available for extensive 1st shift training and report to a full-time schedule of up to 9 hours daily.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2 to 4 years of experience as a Process Engineer
  • U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • Regular attendance
  • Good reading vision, hearing perception, and able to speak clearly
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs.
  • Ability to walk
  • No respiratory issues
  • Fine motor skills and rapid mental-muscular coordination
  • Ability to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents
  • Recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation
  • Understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL)
  • Understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US
  • Manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years in a PCB fabrication environment a plus
  • 1+ years of experience with a Master's degree
  • Subject matter expert in area of responsibility or working knowledge of several technical areas
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and process control
  • Skilled at Root Cause Analysis
  • Well organized with strong project management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions fast and under pressure
  • Hands on with analytical approach to process and mechanical problems
  • Ability to structure project plans and manage cost-effective execution of tasks
  • Uses discretion to help design and implement solutions to somewhat complex problems
