Mechanical Piping Engineer

Job Summary
Lead mechanical and piping engineering activities to drive project delivery within Hatch's Project Delivery Group (PDG). Provide technical leadership in mechanical design, piping systems, stress analysis, and hydraulic engineering while supporting Digital Project Delivery initiatives (including 3D modeling and data-centric, multi-discipline engineering). Oversee equipment identification, sizing, layout, vendor evaluations, P&ID development, hydraulic analysis, material specifications, and stress analysis; conduct site visits; define deliverables and execution strategies; manage work packages to meet budget and schedule; coordinate with other disciplines; participate in safety reviews (HAZOP) and quality audits; promote safe, ethical engineering practices and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate technical teams to achieve quality, cost, and schedule objectives
- Strong planning and organizational skills with a deliverable-focused mindset
- Solid understanding of interdisciplinary dependencies and project execution
- Working knowledge of procurement, contracting, and commissioning practices
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Prior site-based technical experience preferred
