Job Summary
Mechanical (piping) professionals contribute to project execution by developing and modifying piping layouts and models for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems. This includes coordinating system routing and interfaces with process equipment, structures, and underground utilities to ensure constructable and efficient designs. The VDDS Assistant Engineering Technician supports development of high-quality engineering deliverables using 3D piping layouts and model-based drawings in Autodesk Revit, under close supervision. Responsibilities include applying standards and BV policies, reviewing inputs for deliverables, ensuring compliance with codes, delivering moderately complex design concepts, providing technical guidance, performing design calculations and material estimates, coordinating with other design personnel, and supporting field activities. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, knowledge of latest technologies, and collaboration with internal clients across multidisciplinary project teams within the Governments & Communities market sector.
Required Qualifications
- Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience
- Diploma or Certificate preferred; Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred
