Job Summary
The Nuclear Technical Instructor develops, administers and maintains training programs to support Callaway Energy Center’s Qualification Programs, ensuring accreditation and compliance with National Academy for Nuclear Training standards. Responsibilities include delivering formal classroom, laboratory, and simulator instruction; preparing, administering, and grading examinations; evaluating trainee performance; scheduling training with department personnel; supporting the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT); coordinating on-site and off-site training; monitoring Operating Experience trends for curriculum improvements; maintaining accurate documentation; participating in plant activities to maintain licenses/certifications; supporting refueling outage training; and fulfilling Emergency Response Organization duties per the RERP. Requires strong verbal/written communication, supervisory capabilities, and proficiency with office software; knowledge of Learning Management Systems and Computer-Based Training is preferred; candidates must reside within sixty highway miles of the Callaway Energy Center. Compensation ranges from $84,400 to $162,900 with potential incentives; standard benefits include paid vacation/holidays, parental/family leave, and retirement plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is required
- Two (2) or more years of relevant professional or journey level experience required
- Previous training instructor experience in a National Academy for Nuclear Training accredited program preferred
- Senior Technical Instructor qualifications with five (5) or more years of relevant professional or journey level experience
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, combinations of Associate's Degree with years experience or High School Diploma with years experience may be considered
- Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access
