Job Summary
Define business cases and implement equipment and process improvements for current and next-generation products. Plan capacity, equipment, and infrastructure needs for new production lines and scale-up activities, while designing manufacturing floor layouts to maximize efficiency. Manage equipment design, fabrication, qualification, and implementation for production and training centers. Lead workflow reviews, analyze cycle time trends to remove capacity bottlenecks, and collaborate with design and quality teams to resolve ongoing issues. Drive Lean and Kaizen events, develop WIP storage solutions, and serve as a process subject matter expert for technician training. This onsite role in Burnaby, BC, supports the commercial launch of The Globe® Pulsed Field System for atrial fibrillation diagnosis and treatment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, bioengineer or industrial engineering
- 1-5 years' experience in design or manufacturing engineering in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or medical devices industry
- Experience with value stream mapping, design for manufacture, and change control management
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with, and solid understanding of, statistical process controls, lean manufacturing, kaizen\six-sigma implementation is preferred
- Experience in developing manufacturing floorplan layouts based on activity relationship analysis is desirable
