Job Summary
Lead planning, coordination, and oversight of mechanical maintenance, inspection, repair, installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, outage, and specialty project work across nuclear, power generation, and energy-adjacent markets. Provide technical leadership to ensure field execution adheres to customer requirements, plant procedures, industry best practices, OEM recommendations, and applicable codes. Partner with customers, union halls, and internal teams to define project scopes, staffing needs, schedules, and execution strategies while serving as a trusted subject matter expert for complex field challenges. Build and develop high-performing mechanical crews by assessing workforce capabilities, identifying skill gaps, and coaching craft professionals and emerging leaders. Establish dependable pipelines of technical talent through training strategies, mentorship, and partnerships with union representatives to mobilize skilled craft and specialty personnel for current and future opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience
- 7+ years of experience supporting mechanical maintenance, outage execution, or specialty field services within nuclear, power generation, energy, or other heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated experience leading and supporting union craft workforces in maintenance, outage, construction, or field service environments, with a strong understanding of union work practices and field execution
- Strong technical expertise in one or more mechanical disciplines, with the experience and credibility to serve as a trusted subject matter expert for customers, field teams, and technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to assess technical talent, identify critical skill gaps, and coach, teach, and develop craft personnel and technical specialists
- Experience building, developing, and mobilizing high-performing crews for complex maintenance, outage, or specialty project work
- Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills, with the professionalism and technical credibility to work closely with utility customers, plant leadership, union partners, and field personnel
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, OEM specifications, work packages, and other technical documentation
- Experience supporting workforce planning, scheduling, resource allocation, estimating, or execution planning for complex maintenance and outage work
- Working knowledge of applicable safety, quality, plant, and regulatory requirements within nuclear, power generation, or comparable industrial environments
- Strong leadership, judgment, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced outage and field environments
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel 50% or more, including extended assignments during outages and project execution
- Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access authorization for commercial nuclear power plants, as required
- Must be able to stand, climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in industrial environments as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting commercial nuclear power plants and scheduled outage execution
- Established relationships with union halls, craft organizations, or labor partners supporting nuclear, power generation, or heavy industrial work
- Experience developing or supporting technical training, qualification, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs
- Experience identifying and developing specialty technical talent and subject matter experts for hard-to-fill or highly specialized work
- Familiarity with ASME, EPRI, INPO, OEM guidance, and other applicable nuclear and mechanical industry standards
- Demonstrated success building long-term customer relationships and identifying or supporting new business opportunities
