Job Summary
Perform inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment throughout the plant using hand tools, special diagnostic tools, and mobile equipment like Bobcats and forklifts. Troubleshoot and resolve safety, environmental, and operational concerns while adhering to all safety regulations, operational procedures, and Amrize-approved PPE protocols. Complete routine maintenance tasks, document findings, maintain housekeeping standards, and promptly report unusual circumstances to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED
- 5 years related experience in Mechanical Maintenance repair in an industrial environment preferably in a cement plant
- Able to weld, cut, and use standard maintenance-shop type machinery
- Able to show and take initiative based on sound problem solving skills
- Able to operate mobile equipment including Bobcat, Condor, and Forklift
- Able to climb stairs and ladders, work on catwalks or other unusual work areas
- Good communication skills for use with co-workers, contractors, completing reports, etc.
- Must be willing to work overtime and shift work as required
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to complete quality work in a timely fashion, without rework
- Able to perform heavy lifting/physically
- Able to perform heavy lifting/physically demanding work for prolonged periods of time in extremes of climate/temperature
- Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators
- Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
