Job Summary
Install new and existing equipment, diagnose mechanical problems in bearings, drives, hydraulics, and piping systems, and provide recommendations for equipment modifications. Perform welding and cutting using Stick, Mig, Tig, Plasma, and Acetylene methods while interpreting blueprints and diagrams. Prioritize work orders for planned projects and breakdowns, assign tasks to team members, and coordinate with purchasing managers for parts. Communicate effectively with team members, managers, and lead personnel to resolve technical questions. This role supports food production and labeling operations at Furmano Foods, a values-driven company crafting shelf-stable foods since 1921. Candidates must have at least three years of related mechanical experience with welding skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of related mechanical experience
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to work through technical questions with a team
- Ability to prioritize projects and assign to workers on the team
- Ability to work with purchasing manager to order necessary parts
- Ability to communicate and work well with people on the team
- Ability to communicate and work well with other managers and lead personnel
- Ability to lift 50lbs+
- Standing: Frequent to Continuous

- Lifting: Occasional to frequent (heavy duty position / ability to lift 50lbs+)
