Job Summary
Follow established safety procedures and maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery including motors, pumps, and CNC spindles. Layout, assemble, and repair piping systems while operating mobile equipment like forklifts and cranes. Read blueprints to operate CNC machine tools and fabricate tools to exact specifications, ensuring quality through precise measurement and alignment checks. Work flexible shift hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with little notice and overtime availability.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair) or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair)
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which includes comprehensive assessments, drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily, weekend and holidays on those shifts with little notice
- Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals are a must
- Ability to work and stand for extended periods
- Comfortably wear personal protective equipment
- Navigate a busy environment
- Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
- May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. depending on department
- Drive mobile equipment when needed

- Experience with industrial robotics, automation, and conveyance systems
