Job Summary
Mechanical Journeyman/Machine Repair role focused on maintaining and repairing industrial machinery. Key duties include inspecting and repairing mechanical and hydraulic components on machinery, fabricating and repairing piping, reading blueprints for conveyors and automation, operating CNC tools, setting up tooling, and ensuring finished parts meet specifications through metrology. Requires experience in millwright/pipefitter/toolmaker trades, ability to follow OSHA and company safety procedures, and willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime. Relocation not provided; requires U.S. work authorization and completion of GM hiring process.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair) or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair)
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily, weekend and holidays on those shifts with little notice
