Job Summary
Mechanical Journeyman (Machine Repair) for Parma Metal Center with General Motors. Responsibilities include maintaining, dismantling, repairing and replacing mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery; setting up and operating CNC machine tools; fabricating and assembling piping systems; reading blueprints for conveyor systems, robots, and automation; using hand and power tools for measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, soldering, and installing pipes, valves, and fittings; operating mobile equipment (forklifts, cranes); ensuring defect-free parts by verifying dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators; following OSHA safety procedures and company procedures; experience with planned maintenance, predictive technologies, robotics, automation, and conveyance systems is preferred. Role may involve flexible shifts, occasional travel, and potential journeyperson or journeyperson-in-training status; compensation ranges are provided and relocation is the applicant's responsibility. Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair) or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a Mechanical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily
