Job Summary
General Motors mechanical journeyman/millwright role at Parma Metal Center. Responsible for maintaining, dismantling, repairing, and replacing mechanical and hydraulic components on industrial machinery, reading blueprints for conveyors and automation, operating CNC tools, fabricating piping, and ensuring quality of finished parts. Requires a minimum of six years of related mechanical experience or a U.S. Department of Labor certificate, ability to pass GM hiring assessments and background checks, and willingness to work flexible/shifts with overtime. Relocation/travel expenses are the applicant’s responsibility; GM does not sponsor immigration. Based in Parma Metal Center, Parma, IN.
Required Qualifications
- At least six (6) years of related experience in a Mechanical trade (millwright, pipefitter, toolmaker, machine repair) or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a Mechanical trade
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include comprehensive assessments, hair drug testing, and a background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work flexible shift hours and day, afternoon, or night shifts as well as overtime hours daily, weekend and holidays on those shifts with little notice
