Job Summary
Install insulation on mechanical piping systems, HVAC ductwork, and equipment including air handling units, pumps, and chillers. Measure, cut, fabricate, and install insulation materials, vapor barriers, and protective jacketing finishes per project specifications. Read and interpret drawings to determine insulation requirements and coordinate with mechanical and safety teams. Maintain a safe work environment while complying with site-specific policies. Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and Journeyperson certification required. Based in Thunder Bay, ON with travel to project sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Mechanical Insulator certification or equivalent industry experience
- Experience working on industrial, commercial, institutional, infrastructure, power generation, or maintenance projects
- Knowledge of mechanical insulation systems, vapor barriers, jacketing systems, and weatherproofing applications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and mechanical layouts
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying environmental conditions
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment safely
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working around hazardous materials or asbestos abatement projects
