Job Summary
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies at various supplier facilities against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and industry standards. Report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer while interpreting GD&T specifications and utilizing mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers. Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards. Requires five years of experience in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Independent contractor role with no relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies
- ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
- experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard
- knowledge of applicable industry standards
- minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defence manufacturing
- proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor
