Job Summary
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies at various supplier facilities against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and industry standards. Report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer while performing First Article Inspections in accordance with the AS9102 standard. Utilize mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify compliance with ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance requirements. Requires practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined components within aerospace or military/defence manufacturing. Independent contractor status required; relocation not available.
Required Qualifications
- practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies
- ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
- experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard
- knowledge of applicable industry standards
- minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defence manufacturing
- proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor
