Job Summary
Conduct on-site inspections at supplier facilities, verifying manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings, purchase orders, and industry standards. Perform visual and dimensional checks using tools like micrometers and calipers, while reviewing Certificates of Conformance for materials and external suppliers. Report findings via SAP and Verity platforms using a personal laptop, documenting non-conformities and recommending rejection or rework dispositions. This 90-day contract (40 hours/week) requires 5 years of experience in tight tolerance inspections, complex assemblies, and First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102. Candidates must be computer-savvy, willing to use a personal cell phone, and capable of lifting 30 lbs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years' experience in inspection of tight tolerances
- 5 years' experience in complex assemblies and large Mill Turn parts
- 5 years' experience in special processes
- Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard
- Knowledge of the AS9102 standard including complete review of technical data package for full traceability of documents
- Experience using various inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers
- Soft skills to clearly communicate non-conformances internally and externally
- Computer savvy
- Willingness to use personal laptop to complete inspection reporting via SAP platform and SPP (Supplier Performance Platform)
- Willingness to utilize personal cell phone
- Willingness to work in fast paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to possess all PPE required per suppliers safety requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, maneuver
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs
- No relocation offers available (condition)
- Must be willing to use personal laptop to complete customer inspection records within SAP platform and Verity's reporting platform
Desired Qualifications
- Welding certification (certification is not required, but preferred)
- Possess a certificate of the controlled goods program
