Job Summary
Perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and industry standards. Report inspection accept or reject information directly to the customer via a web application. Utilize mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify compliance with ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance requirements. Execute First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 standards while reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and purchase orders. This independent contractor assignment requires a laptop, spans up to 40 hours per week for 1-2 months, and is based in Bangalore, India, with no relocation support.
Required Qualifications
- practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies
- ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
- experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard
- knowledge of AS9102 standard
- minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing
- proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- computer savvy
- own a laptop
- Will be working as an independent contractor
- Relocation is not available
Desired Qualifications
- experience performing inspections to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard
- AS13001 experience
