Job Summary
Travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, and AS9100 standards. Report inspection accept or reject information directly to the customer via web application. Interpret GD&T requirements and utilize mechanical inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers for in-process and final inspections. Conduct First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to own a laptop for the assignment.
Required Qualifications
- practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies
- ability to read / interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs)
- experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers
- experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the Aerospace Standard (AS9102)
- knowledge of AS9102
- minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing
- proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
- computer savvy
- own a laptop for this assignment
