Mechanical Inspector

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers to ensure compliance with ASME, API, and NBIC codes. Witness non-destructive testing procedures, interpret results, and verify reports for quality assurance. Perform in-service, turnaround, and risk-based inspections while observing welders and preheating procedures. Investigate non-conformities, identify root causes, and assist in corrective actions. Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings and issue recommendations. This role requires at least five years of industrial welding inspection experience, including two years in quality assurance or vendor surveillance, with AWS CWI or API certifications preferred. Work is assigned on an as-needed basis, paid hourly, and involves signing an independent contractor agreement.
