Job Summary

Review engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints to understand required measurements, materials, and tolerances. Ensure parts are produced according to blueprints by conducting visual and dimensional inspections for defects such as cracks, burrs, or improper finishes. Receive quality plans from engineers to examine materials for surface flaws and approve finished products after visual and measurement tests. Perform corrective actions, internal audits, and first article, in-process, and final inspections on assemblies. Construct complex inspection setups to determine product acceptance using precision surface plates and CMM verification tools. Initiate and complete all quality-related records and documents with minimal supervision. Shift runs 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM in Tualatin, OR, with a 10% differential for 2nd shift employees.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Experience in a precision machine shop environment
  • Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Training in basic shop and measurement math, including linear measurement, metrics, algebra and geometry
  • Familiarity with ISO documentation and processes
  • Experience CMM Programming with Zeiss and Mitutoyo MCOSMOS
