Job Summary
Mechanical HVAC Designer needed to advance from drafting to technical ownership of complex HVAC systems across commercial, healthcare, and educational facilities. Responsibilities include engineering high-performance HVAC designs, performing heating/cooling load calculations and energy modeling, BIM/CAD integration with Revit and AutoCAD, coordinating with internal MEP disciplines and external architectural partners, specifying equipment, developing schedules and technical specs, supporting project documentation from concept through submittals, and ensuring adherence to technical quality and environmental performance metrics. Preferred qualifications include EIT PE licensure path, advanced Revit MEP workflows, healthcare/higher education project experience, and LEED familiarity. Hybrid work setup in Syracuse, NY with opportunities for growth toward senior engineering roles.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or CAD
- Minimum of 2 years HVAC design experience in a consulting/MEP design environment
- Strong command of AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, building energy modeling, and building codes
- Excellent collaboration, organization, and communication skills
