Job Summary
Design and engineer HVAC, ventilation, and hydronic systems for high-end corporate interiors and mission-critical environments in NYC. Lead BIM/Revit modeling and develop comprehensive mechanical plans, schematics, and equipment layouts while performing rigorous load calculations and equipment selections. Manage the full design lifecycle from site investigations to construction administration and final punchlists. Coordinate across architectural, structural, and MEP partners to ensure cohesive integration within a BIM-centric workflow. Produce system narratives, basis-of-design documentation, and technical specifications aligned with NYC codes and client requirements. Conduct detailed site surveys to verify existing conditions and provide technical oversight during construction to ensure design intent is realized.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
- 5–15 years of professional experience in mechanical HVAC engineering design for commercial building systems
- Expert command of Revit/BIM for independent production and coordination of complex mechanical models
- Deep knowledge of air distribution, hydronic heating/cooling, chilled water systems, and VRF/DX technologies
- Strong understanding of mechanical code fundamentals and design compliance within high-density urban environments
Desired Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or on-track (EIT/PE)
- NYC project constraints experience
- Mission-critical facilities or data center experience
- Sustainability-driven design and energy-conscious optimization
- PE license preferred
