Job Summary
Mechanical Fitter (HGV Technician) role across multiple sites within a 20-mile radius of Glasgow. Responsible for diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a diverse commercial fleet, including hydraulic/pneumatic systems and air brakes (ABS/EBS). Requires time-served background and City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent; includes engine/driveline work, electrical wiring, and preparing vehicles for MOT. 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days/nights); 19-week temporary period with potential progression to permanent employment. Opportunities to join growing engineering team across Coatbridge, Springburn, or Stirling with emphasis on quality, safety, and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Time-served HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, or Mechanical Fitter background
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent engineering qualification
- Experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and air brake systems
- Ability to work independently and within a shift team environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
