Job Summary
Perform online and offline inspections to determine equipment condition, isolate machinery, and lead preventative and corrective maintenance tasks. Conduct fault-finding and defect elimination activities to resolve issues, rebuild and repair mechanical spares, and assist with procurement of consumables and tools using the SAP system. Seek ways to continuously improve maintenance practices and strategies to ensure reliable equipment operation and continuous manufacturing. This role supports the Paint and Finishing Department at BlueScope's Springhill facility, where coils of steel are painted and packaged for global distribution. Candidates will develop trade and leadership skills within a team environment focused on safety, sustainability, and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- a fitting/machining trade qualification
- experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment conducting a maintenance function
- the ability to fault-find mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment and their interaction with process line automation
- a strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
Desired Qualifications
- a familiarity with rolling mill equipment and associated condition monitoring practices
