Job Summary
Mechanical Technician assembles metal enclosures and subassemblies for low- and medium-voltage switchgear per engineering drawings and specifications; installs mechanical hardware such as doors, hinges, panels, gaskets, and brackets; uses calipers, rulers, and squares for precise alignment; performs drilling and tapping of holes; inspects assemblies for quality and completes production documentation; maintains a clean, safe work area and follows safety procedures; reads mechanical drawings to guide work; capable of working independently or with others in a fast-paced manufacturing setting; 2nd shift.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in mechanical assembly or fabrication in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layout diagrams
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and basic shop equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
- Willingness to follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment
