Job Summary

Mechanical (Finite Element) Simulation Engineer role involving simulation-driven development for Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s components and systems. Responsibilities include using finite element analysis tools to conduct early design evaluation and optimization, constructing realistic models, and interpreting results to inform reliability improvement and quality issue resolution across semiconductor devices, PCB assemblies, and systems. You will evaluate design variation effects on reliability, collaborate with engineering teams to assess risks, and provide guidance on acceleration testing methods and mitigation measures. Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in material science, mechanical engineering, or related fields, at least 3 years of FE experience, direct ANSYS experience, and strong teamwork and communication skills; familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and materials properties is highly desired. The role is hybrid with an expectation of ~2 days per week in an HPE office, and offers a comprehensive benefits package and inclusive culture. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in material science, mechanical engineering, or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finite element simulation
  • Direct experience with ANSYS
  • General understanding of semiconductor technology and electronic system manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with failure modes and mechanisms of components and electronic assemblies
  • Knowledge of organic and inorganic materials properties, testing and characterization methods, and constitutive models
  • Good performance as part of teams in both leadership and supporting roles; Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
