Job Summary

Mechanical Field Engineer for Critical Facilities Traveler role overseeing onsite engineering coordination and construction administration at multi-year data center projects. Acts as the onsite engineering representative connecting Owners, Contractors and Offsite Design, ensuring design intent, field verification, and closeout deliverables across US data center builds. Responsibilities include travel to client sites, RFI/RFP/submittal review, CAD/BIM model management, commissioning support, field inspections, QA/QC, and coordination with vendors and owners teams. Requires expertise in mechanical and electrical systems (MEP), HVAC/CRAC/CRAH, BIM (AutoCAD, Revit), design coordination, and strong documentation control; experience with data center commissioning, turnover, and LEED-oriented design encouraged. Must be able to operate independently in fast-paced field environments, communicate effectively with Owners and contractors, and support multiple data center builds with travel to various sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or Construction preferred but relevant experience also considered
  • 5-10+ years experience
  • EIT or PE license is a plus but not required
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems with a strength in HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, Boilers, Chillers
  • Knowledge in Electrical Power Systems a plus (Generators, UPS, Switchgear, Electrical Power Distribution)
  • Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience a must
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM for design reviews is a plus
  • Proficient in construction administration and document management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze field conditions and recommend solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with Owners, contractors, and engineering teams
  • Ability to work on large construction sites independently and safely
  • Self Starter, self motivated, and should prioritize well
  • Computer savvy / Microsoft Project, Excel. Teams, etc.
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans a huge plus
