Job Summary
The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for providing complete, accurate, well defined, and timely estimates for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer satisfaction. This role includes estimating labor factors and material pricing, calling for special pricing, clarifying discrepancies, preparing disciplined estimates, and maintaining documentation. Candidates must have over 5 years of experience in HVAC and piping estimating, possess problem-solving skills, and be proficient with HVAC estimating software. Strong attention to detail and organization are crucial, as well as the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC, PIPING, and ESTIMATING
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection reports, etc.
- Significant knowledge of construction methods as well as an understanding of municipalities and the permit processes
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and tasks at a time
- Ability to meet sensitive timelines
Desired Qualifications
- Design-Build experience is preferred but is not required
- Proficient in HVAC estimating software (Trimble MEP preferred / QuickPen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suite including MS Excel software
