Job Summary
Complete pressure vessel, piping, structural, and assembly estimates by calculating labor hours for individual components like skids and vessels. Prepare cost estimates for assigned proposals while reviewing customer specifications and applicable codes such as ANSI, ASME, and API. Determine material needs and special requirements, then liaise with vendors to secure pricing and delivery quotes. Compile estimates manually or via software, utilizing skills to read PFDs, P&IDs, and 2D and 3D layouts. Candidates require 2-3 years of estimating experience with a similar design and fabrication organization and a related technical diploma.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience estimating with a similar design and fabrication organization
- Junior candidates may be considered depending upon the individual's attributes
- Related technical diploma
- Graduate student from Mechanical or Engineering Design and Drafting Technologies
- Knowledge of ANSI, ASME and API codes
- Ability to compile estimates both manually and via estimating software applications
- Basic Knowledge of Instrumentation
- Able to read and develop PFDs P&IDs, 2D and 3D layouts, equipment datasheets, material takeoffs
- General knowledge of fabrication, welding, shop and NDE procedures
