Job Summary
Mechanical Estimator responsible for accurately determining the cost of mechanical projects (HVAC, hydronic piping, and other mechanical systems); collaborate with sales, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule. Responsibilities include reviewing project drawings/specifications, performing material take-offs with Trimble AutoBid (Sheet Metal and Hydronic piping), allocating labor/equipment/material/subcontracted services, establishing labor factors, conducting cost studies, obtaining quotes from suppliers/subcontractors, leading constructability reviews, facilitating bid reviews, preparing pricing sheets and formal proposals in Excel/Word, developing new techniques for piping and mechanical systems, maintaining estimating database, and ensuring clear communication with project managers and subcontractors.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of dedicated experience within the construction industry
- Five or more years of experience estimating technical commercial construction projects is strongly preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC and piping systems
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to produce high-quality work while managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- A collaborative team player capable of working effectively with minimal supervision and supporting colleagues with a positive, enthusiastic approach
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of project estimation and documentation
