Job Summary
Prepare lump sum bids, proposals, and unit cost estimates for diverse construction projects by analyzing historical data, reviewing plans and specifications, and assembling material and labor costs. Consult with clients, procurement, and subcontractors to resolve issues, while evaluating fee structures, contingencies, and value engineering opportunities. Conduct subcontractor labor and market studies, review small and disadvantaged business solicitations, and present estimating strategies during pre-bid meetings. Ensure compliance with estimating methodology and company policies to maintain accuracy and validity of all cost clarifications and assumptions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- 3+ years of direct project estimating experience
- Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Thorough knowledge of company procedures
- Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques
- Thorough knowledge of various construction disciplines
- Thorough knowledge of cost control systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

- Ability to handle large volumes of work
