Job Summary
Mechanical Estimator to support MEP-focused commercial and industrial projects. Responsibilities include reviewing project drawings, specifications, and bid documents; preparing detailed labor and material takeoffs for HVAC and sheet metal systems; developing accurate cost estimates including equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractor scope; soliciting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotations; participating in pre-bid meetings and site visits; collaborating with internal teams to support bid strategy and project turnover; maintaining knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, materials, and industry standards; onsite work in Knoxville, TN.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience estimating mechanical construction projects with a strong MEP focus
- Direct experience estimating HVAC and sheet metal systems
- Experience supporting commercial and/or industrial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Experience performing detailed labor and material takeoffs
- Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software (such as Trimble AutoBid or similar)
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe
- Experience working with vendors and subcontractors to develop pricing
- Must be able to work onsite in the Knoxville, TN area
