Job Summary

Mechanical Engineers and Mechanical Designers at Eichleay will contribute to industrial and facility projects across Western U.S. locations, developing mechanical systems including piping, equipment layouts, HVAC, and process support. Responsibilities include preparing mechanical design work packages, performing pipe stress and hydraulic/thermal calculations, reviewing documents for quality and conformance, developing specifications, coordinating with vendors/clients, supporting construction, commissioning, and client turnarounds, and ensuring compliance with ASME/ANSI/API codes. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET) with 5+ years’ relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD (and 3D modeling tools such as Navisworks), and demonstrated ability to coordinate across disciplines while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role involves in-person site involvement, client meetings, and potential travel, with a hybrid work arrangement in selected Western U.S. locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in refining, chemicals, power, life sciences, food & beverage, or related industrial industries
  • Ability to develop mechanical designs including piping, equipment layouts, HVAC, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment
  • Experience with P&IDs, design calculations (pipe stress, hydraulic, thermal), and feasibility studies
  • Knowledge of codes such as ASME, ANSI, API; familiarity with industry standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Navisworks or 3D modeling tools; strong communication skills
  • Experience with utility systems, central plants, and regulated environments (cGMP, cleanrooms) preferred
  • Ability to manage vendor submittals, bid evaluations, and RFI processes
  • Willingness to travel to sites for in-person meetings and site visits
  • Licensure as PE or pursuing licensure is highly desired
  • Safety training and site-specific compliance requirements
