Job Summary
Mechanical Engineering Technician at Wilcox, supporting the assembly of test fixtures and engineering prototypes, performing troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and optical assemblies, conducting basic engineering calculations and documentation, executing hands-on testing in lab/field settings to evaluate performance and durability, maintaining test records for traceability, and collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines to support prototype testing and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include assisting with procurement and assembly of new test equipment, attending cross-functional meetings, and performing additional duties as directed. Requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent, proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with defect-tracking tools (JIRA); CAD/SolidWorks knowledge is preferred; ability to operate in a production environment; US Citizenship is required due to access to export-controlled technology. Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (EET, or a related field) or equivalent experience
- Relevant hands-on experience from internships, technical training programs, or relevant coursework is beneficial
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft 365, Teams)
- Experience in using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
- US Citizenship is required for this position
