Job Summary
Design and author authentic technician workflow tasks reflecting real-world mechanical engineering challenges, including test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and failure diagnosis. Source, synthesize, and construct technical datasets from realistic laboratory or production environments using logs, calibration records, and sensor outputs. Develop rigorous grading rubrics with 35+ criteria to evaluate technical skills and create evaluation materials for both AI systems and domain experts. Document procedures, observations, and failure modes with high accuracy while reviewing deliverables for alignment with project specifications. Work independently in a remote setting to meet weekly submission requirements and project timelines. Begin tasks within 24–48 hours of onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in laboratory, testing, manufacturing, production, or related mechanical engineering technology environments
- Strong hands-on experience with instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition systems, and prototype testing workflows
- Demonstrated ability to document test procedures, results, observations, and equipment failure modes in detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex test data
- Experience diagnosing equipment, mechanical systems, or process failures
- Ability to create and interpret technical documentation and datasets
- Familiarity with technical file formats, including CSVs, spreadsheets, PDFs, and related documentation
- Strong written communication skills and attention to technical detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
