Job Summary
Design, specification, and field verification of pressure piping systems while learning basic engineering principles and design. Support professional engineers in developing technical scopes for mechanical equipment procurement and review contractor designs through discipline reviews and SQUAD checks. Utilize hands-on mechanical aptitude to solve daily problems, increase design quality, and assist with work planning and project goals. Gain insight into oil and gas operations and the management of change process during project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering
- Physically capable of climbing ladders and temporary scaffolding stairs during field verification of constructed engineering designs
- Strong knowledge of basic design principles
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver's abstract
- Legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
