Job Summary
Prepare and coordinate mechanical construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, developing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system layouts in collaboration with engineers. Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil disciplines, while reviewing drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Conduct field measurements and site surveys for renovation projects, support contract administration, and mentor junior CAD and Revit staff. Contribute to continual improvements in drafting standards and project delivery workflows. This office-based role in Truro, Nova Scotia, involves working with a close-knit team on significant, sustainable healthcare and institutional projects across Atlantic Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- Preference given to candidates who have achieved C.E.T. status
- Experience developing and coordinating mechanical building system models and construction documents
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and industry best practices
- Experience coordinating projects with multiple disciplines
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative project team
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites
