Job Summary
Plan and direct all mechanical engineering activities, projects, and processes from concept through market availability. Ensure initiatives conform to established policies while selecting design concepts and technologies for new or improved products. Direct the development of new products and improvements, assigning projects and overseeing key processes, performance reports, and documentation systems. Perform risk assessments, mitigate strategies, and analyze designs to improve quality and meet customer specifications. Interface with Engineering, Sales, Quality Assurance, and Production to identify trends, while acting as a technical consultant to customers. Select, develop, and train staff; implement policies and procedures; and cooperate with Operations to ensure a robust supply chain. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and three years of engineering management experience. Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- three years of hands-on Engineering Management experience working directly within all levels of the department
- Proven experience onboarding and training engineering staff regarding best practices and new methods
- Experience performing engineering tasks if resources are not available
- Experience interacting with customers regarding problem resolution, production descriptions, qualification definitions, etc.
- Excellent technical skills
- Knowledge of process related standards
- Basic principles of electro-mechanical devices and assembly
- Familiar with qualification requirements for Mil Standards
- Analytical and strategic thinker with interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable with Project Management
