Job Summary
Mechanical Engineering Manager role leading a team of engineers and designers to design and detail equipment and systems for vacuum furnaces, including hot zones, chambers, gas quench, vacuum pumping, water cooling, pneumatic and partial pressure systems. Responsibilities include creating CAD drawings and BOMs, performing design calculations to meet specifications, developing operations and maintenance manuals, supporting sales with estimates and technical guidance, assisting purchasing with material and supplier qualification, and overseeing a team to ensure production schedules. Requires ABET-accredited or equivalent engineering experience, 8+ years in mechanical engineering for manufacturing, proficiency with Windows, Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD, Excel, PDM (Autodesk Vault), and ERP (Acumatica); strong supervisory and leadership capabilities; familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code VIII-1, NFPA 86, OSHA, and ANSI/ASME/AMS standards.
Required Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering curriculum or eight years of progressive engineering experience
- Minimum 8 years experience in mechanical engineering for manufacturing
- Proficient in Windows-based PCs
- Proficient with 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred) and Autodesk AutoCAD
- Proficient in Excel for engineering
- Experience with a PDM package (Autodesk Vault preferred)
- Knowledge of ERP software (Acumatica preferred)
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
