Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineering Manager 2 will lead a Mechanical Design Guidance Computer Section within the SDS Design Engineering organization, focusing on professional development, team management, and integration across weapon system elements. Key responsibilities include managing annual goals, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution, along with mentoring team members. Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with significant experience in mechanical engineering, proficiency in CAD tools, and active Secret security clearance. The role involves managing projects, ensuring effective communication, and driving continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience, or 6 years of related experience with Master's degree in a STEM discipline
- Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
- Experience leading projects and managing cross functional teams, budgets, and schedules
- Experience identifying and tracking program risks and opportunities
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with mechanical engineering design and CAD tools like Siemens NX
- Experience with product lifecycle management tools i.e. Siemens Teamcenter PLM
- Proficiency in driving programmatic battle rhythm
- Customer-focused mindset with proven leadership skills and excellent communication skills
- Experience with the manufacturing of electronic systems
- Experience with the design of Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) for military applications
