Job Summary
Conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports on findings while supporting operations and projects using engineering principles in both office and industrial settings. Collaborate with engineers and operations staff to improve processes, resolve issues, and implement mechanical adjustments that enhance throughput and efficiency. Work hands-on with mechanical systems and maintenance tasks alongside operators to identify trends, recommend improvements, and develop trials based on operational needs. Assist in predictive maintenance initiatives by collecting and analyzing vibration and temperature data on rotating equipment to identify early signs of wear or failure. This summer internship at the Steel Dynamics Flat Roll Division in Butler, IN, offers a unique balance of CAD design, process improvement, and practical mechanical maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering
