Job Summary
Mechanical Engineering Group Supervisor responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers, estimating staffing needs, and planning/scheduling work. Develop discipline estimates and work plans, review mechanical investigations, and ensure high-quality deliverables. Lead training and mentorship, oversee bid evaluations and design documents, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and participate in cross-discipline design reviews. The role requires at least three days per week of in-person attendance at the assigned office/project (Reston, VA or Knoxville, TN) with part-time telework per policy. The ideal candidate will build an inclusive team, drive project performance, stay current with software and engineering methods, and collaborate with clients and regulatory bodies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering
- U.S. Professional Engineering License in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Experience in P&ID development, fluid system design, hydraulic, heat transfer, and thermodynamics calculations; equipment specification and design development for process facilities
- Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, and other industry codes and standards; quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, ISO-9000
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Nuclear experience in DOE/DOD or commercial nuclear projects (preferred)
