Job Summary
Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Department Manager who will provide technical and project execution oversight for projects in heavy industrial engineering sectors such as steel and manufacturing. Responsibilities include managing departmental resources, participating in business development, hiring and training staff, and ensuring engineering quality standards are met. The ideal candidate should have at least ten years of engineering experience, a PE license, and strong leadership skills in a consulting environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- PE license
- Minimum of ten years of prior relevant engineering experience
- Technical knowledge and/or expertise in multiple areas of mechanical engineering
- Successful experience in leadership roles managing engineering teams and/or engineering departments
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough understanding and aptitude in the use of current computer software
